DescriptionThe series 7 chair, also know as the 7 chair, was design in 1955 by Arne Jacobsen with purpose as a pile-able chair og made use of Ray and Charles Eames' innovative and inspirering processtechnique of laminated plywood-plates. The design of the chair consists of a plywood-seat and a metalframe with four legs. The wooden seat consists of nine lamineted layers, where each layer is added with a layer of cottonfabric in between. With a pressure of 94 ton, the chair is molded to its characteristic form through steam-heating. The surface of the seat kan be bought in natural wood or a painted version, plain or with texture. The Series 7 Chair has already sold over 5 million articles worldwide. And last but not least, the 7 chair (plain black variation) is also to be found among the permanent collection at The Museum of Modern Art in New York.
