In the mid-50s, Verner Panton realized many of his unconventional ideas. One came to be known as the iconic "Heart Cone Chair". Defying gravity, the cone was both futuristic and shocking: so much so that, when it was exhibited in a shop window in New York City, the police had to request its removal due to the traffic chaos its presence had created. Despite this, today it's a comfortable chair for everyday use.
