Hans J. Wegner was one of the most significant Danish designers. The typical Y-Chair from the 50's is one of his prime drafts, which particularly follows the Scandinavian and organic design concept. In Denmark this style of design was especially characterized by Hans Wegner.

Hans J Wegner trained as a cabinet-maker before attending the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts, where he later lectured.
