The DSR (Dining Height Side Chair Rod Base) chair by Charles Eames, is like the related DSW (Dining Side Shell Wood) and was designed in the beginning of the 1950's for the 'Low-Cost Furniture Design' Competition the Museum of Modern Art, New York. The Charles Eames Fiberglas Group was one of the first chairs also manufactured in industrial plastic. The organically shaped bowl seat is connected to a wire based frame (shock frame). Like the original, the DSR designed by Charles Eames is available in different colours of fiberglas and polypropylene (plastic). The four legs are made out of wires with a chrome surface. The chairs cannot be stacked on top of each other.
